A natural protection for old wood in one layer? Avo-can-do with Rubio Monocoat!

An avocado bar with healthy meals, a Bohemian style and a cosy terrace recycled from an old London floor? That must be a top formula! Restaurant Avocadoo in Bucharest combines all these trendy elements and created a bar that is totally in. To make sure that the 50-year-old wood will be preserved for at least another 50 years, they decided to use the Rubio Monocoat Hybrid Wood Protector.

The avocado bar

Avocadoo was founded in 2018 in a shopping centre near Bucharest airport. Two years later, the concept was so popular that a second branch was opened, more towards the centre of the capital. The concept itself revolves around avocados, of course, but that's not all. At the bar, they focus on healthy and fresh dishes. Moreover, they use biodegradable materials.

The meals are always made on the spot and are therefore really fresh. However, before they are served to the customer, there is another important step in the process: the OMG test. This means that they test the taste of the dish themselves. If the reaction is "Omg, that's good!", only then does the dish go out the door. So you only get delicious and healthy meals on your plate!

Wood with a history

The terrace is all cosiness, and that has everything to do with the ecological aspect of the wood! It is made of recycled wood that is 50 years old. The wood was given a second life in the avocado bar in Romania after having served as a floor in a London house for half a century. With patience, attention and enthusiasm, Mesterul Geppetto transformed the wood into Avocadoo's beautiful terrace.

Long-lasting protection with Rubio Monocoat

In order to preserve wood for as long as possible or to revive it, proper protection is of course necessary. In this case the Rubio Monocoat Hybrid Wood Protector was chosen. Thanks to the product's environmentally friendly and economical properties, this protective oil for outside wood fits in perfectly with the bar's design. The original appearance of the wood was preserved as much as possible by choosing the colour Pure. A successful collaboration!
