Summer holidays are almost over! Time to enjoy the last summer aperitifs and cozy BBQ's in the sun. During the summer holiday period we at Rubio Monocoat received a lot of the same questions in our mailbox: "Is your oil food safe? And can I serve appetizers on my wooden cutting board? And is this hygienic?" Fortunately, Rubio Monocoat has a solution for everything.

Versatile wood oil

As you already know, our Rubio Monocoat Oil Plus 2C has been one of the most versatile wood oils on the market for years. Our oil can be applied to floors, furniture, stairs, etc. and is also ideal for worktops and other surfaces that come into contact with food, because our Oil Plus 2C is Food Contact Compliant!

Food Contact Compliance

Eurofins provided us with the Food Contact Compliance Declaration: a declaration that guarantees full compliance with the harmonized legal requirements in Europe regarding all types of materials that come into contact with food. With this declaration, we can answer your frequently asked questions. If you apply our Rubio Monocoat Oil Plus 2C (A + B) on a wooden surface, the surface will be safe for food contact and therefore Food Contact Compliant.

Aperitif proof

In practice, Food Contact Compliance means that cutting boards, kitchen worktops, tabletops, etc. treated with Rubio Monocoat Oil Plus 2C are also safe for household use. We notice that this is becoming increasingly important as a recommendation for many projects and we are proud to be able to respond to this.

We are responsible for food-safe aperitifs, but not for any injuries.
